State-run media confess to major role of MEK in recent uprisings

Reported by PMOI/MEK

Iran, Aug. 12, 2018 – Dananews, a media outlet with ties to the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards and security apparatus, published an op-ed, in which it warned against the escalating protests in Iran and the influence of the PMOI/MEK in shaping and organizing the uprising that started in December.

“A few minutes after the beginning of the demonstration, the slogans became directly aimed at the entirety of the system,” the outlet writes.

Dananews observes that the close examination of the protests, which it calls “illegal,” shows that the MEK has changed its tactics. “For instance, in the December/January protests, it took one to two days before the focus of slogans changed from economic woes to demands for regime change. But in the illegal protests of recent days, a few minutes after the crowd gathered, protesters started to shout slogans against the system,” the outlet writes.

Data news also expresses fear of the recent message by MEK leader Massoud Rajavi to the resistance units on the continuation of the Iranian protests.

“Recently, Rajavi gave a call to the so-called ‘resistance units’ and has promised that the turmoil will continue and escalate every day,” Dananews writes. “He claims that the protests are becoming increasingly organized and the government doesn’t have the capacity to stop them.

“It’s worth reminding that the U.S. government expressed support for the protests in December and Maryam Rajavi stipulated that her organization was involved in the protests,” the op-ed states.

“The MEK is more ready than ever and has become directly involved in the chaos,” Dananews warns.
