Allawi Called For Genuine Pressure on Iran to Stop its Meddling in Iraq

On Nov. 5, former Iraqi premier Dr. Ayad Allawi in an interview with the Al-Jazeera T.V. underlining that there are obvious evidences about Iranian regime’s interferences in Iraq, called for effective pressure on the Iranian regime and said: “the United States and the international community must have a plain policy to exert pressure on the Iranian regime and they must put the regime under real pressure until it abandons interfering in affairs of the countries of the region.

Dr. Allawi added: “everyone knows the all MNFI officials talk about the meddling of the Iranian regime in Iraq and arming the militias, and regional meddling by this regime is not hidden to anyone. For this same reason, I have always said that the pillars of a new Iraq must be free of sectarian-based quota and must rely on a government that is devoted to the Iraqi people, and not to a party or a sect.

Regarding his plan for the future he said: “we have a national plan for distancing Iraq from sectarian division and partitioning, establishing the Iraqi government, dissolving the armed militias and completing the real national reconciliation for every one to take part in the political process.”
