Iran: Political prisoner Osanlou sentenced to additional year in prison

NCRI, 13 August 2010 – A prominent political prisoner and union activist in Iran has been sentenced to another year in prison by the Iranian regime on fabricated charges.

On Wednesday, Harana news agency reported that Mansour Osanlou, the head of the Greater Tehran Bus Company Syndicate, was tried in the city of Karaj and sentenced to a year in prison.
Mr. Osanlou has been jailed a number of times since 2005 for his efforts in defending rights of Iranian workers, and has been imprisoned since July 2007.
Regime officials recently fabricated a case against Osanlou and did not inform his lawyer about the trial date in an apparent attempt to swiftly saddle the political activist with another year in prison.
