Australian MPs Asked for International Trial of Orderers of 1988 Massacre in Iran

In a session in Sydney, Australia, with the presence of a number of Parliament members and that country’s prominent human rights personalities, the speakers commemorated the massacre of political prisoners in Iran in 1988, and asked for punishment of orderers and those in charge of this anti-human atrocity.

This session was held in one of the halls of New South Wales Parliament and was chaired by Dr. Meridice Bergman, former Senate leader of this state.

The speakers of the session were Larry Fergusson, member of Federal Parliament and the shadow Minister of Immigration from Labor Party, Mrs. Sylvia Hill, member of Parliament from the Green Party, Peter Murphy, in charge of “Coalition of Peace and Justice” in Australia and Dr. Mona Asghari from the society of Iranians residing in Australia.

The speakers condemned mullahs’ regime’s atrocities in prisons and violations of human rights in Iran, and asked for prosecution of the mullahs’ regime’s leaders on the charges of crime against humanity and genocide at international tribunals.

At the end, a resolution, addressed to Australian Foreign Minister and signed by all the participants, was released by the Society of Australians Supporting Democracy in Iran. This resolution asked all the world’s civilized governments and the world community to condemn the ruthless massacre of 1988 in Iran and also asked the United Nations to prosecute and try 13 orderers of these massacres on the charges of crimes against humanity and bring them to justice.
