Iran, April 11, 2018 – Residents of Ziar district of Isfahan, central Iran, demonstrated on Wednesday, April 11, blocking the main road in their city by setting fire to old car tires. They were protesting against the arrest of a youth from their neighborhood.
Police and security forces, earlier, had arrested a young man who had attended a demonstration in Khoorasgan, the suburb of Isfahan. He was arrested upon his return from the demonstration. This, angered the people of Ziar prompting them to take part in a demonstration while chanting anti-government slogans.
They shouted: "18 years of treason against farmers" and "If you don’t have a responsible and accountable director, then you must bring one from a barn."
