Iran; Indictment issued for 43 protesters participating in December uprisings

Iran, March 28, 2018 – The public prosecutor for the province of Kermanshah in western Iran, issued indictment orders for 43 protesters who participated in the December 2017 general uprising in Iran, and said that they had taken to the streets, influenced by the social media.
Mohammad Hossein Sadeghi announced this news in an interview with “Mizan Online”, the official news agency of the Iranian Judiciary.
He referred to the December uprisings in dozens of Iranian cities as “bitter incidents” and added “these protests incurred many losses upon our society.”
According to this Judicial authority, the uprisings began “in the context of lack of realization of the demands of the people in the economic arena, but were soon guided towards destructive behaviors.”
