NHK, 28 March 2018— The United States says it has been briefed by China on the visit by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, though she did not elaborate on the details of the communication.
Sanders also said China’s briefing included a personal message from Chinese President Xi Jinping to President Donald Trump, which has been conveyed to the president.
She said the US remains in close contact with its allies South Korea and Japan, stressing that it places importance on the trilateral cooperation.
Sanders said her country sees the development as further evidence that its campaign of maximum pressure is creating the appropriate atmosphere for dialogue with North Korea.
