Orient Net, 19 March, 2018-- Fierce bombardment has targeted Douma city in eastern Ghouta, the last bastion for Syrian opposition near the capital Damascus, since yesterday, killing and wounding several civilians, in an attempt by regime militias to enter the city, backed by Russian air force.
Orient News correspondent said 13 civilians, including children, have been killed in Douma on Sunday (March 18) and others were wounded in fierce ongoing assault by Assad militias and Russian aircraft that targeted residential areas in the city with more than 30 airstrikes using bunker buster missiles, while helicopters dropped barrel-bombs.
Syria Civil Defense published a video showing the rescue of a woman from under the rubble of her destroyed house in Douma city, last night.
Our correspondent also reported 4 more civilians were killed in eastern Ghouta’s other areas, while regime militias took vast parts of Saqba.
Assad regime intensified assault to infiltrate into Douma city after gaining control of Mesraba city, splitting eastern Ghouta into three main pockets.
