The Iranian regime will filter Telegram on the eve of National Fire Festival

Iran, March 12, 2018 – Ayatollahs’ dictatorship considers filtering the Telegram Social Messaging App during the National Fire Festival. The regime is afraid of the spread of the news of protests and uprisings through using social media and the messaging applications.
Head of Iran’s National Cyber Space Center, Abul Hasan Firoozabadi, told ILNA news agency: “Telegram can be filtered if we deemed it necessary. Any foreign-based websites or apps might be filtered at any time temporarily or permanently, as they do not fulfill Iran’s law. So we suggest people use Iran-based messaging applications”.
It goes without saying that the regime is trying to guide people to Iran-based messaging applications to conduct its own spying mission against the protesters and dissidents.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) published a book revealing Iran’s projects for creating spying apps which could previously be found in Google Store.
