IRGC, IMIS, Hezbollah support terror cells in Bahrain – Minister

The Baghdad Post, January 21, 2018 – Bahrain Interior Minister Lieutenant General Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa said Sunday nineteen terrorist plots were foiled last year.

Terrorists have been planning to assassinate a number of officials and public figures, police officers as well as destroying oil facilities. These plots have been unveiled while conducting an information-gathering operation about terrorist groups, Al Khalifa said.

During the security operations, 290 terrorists have been arrested, he noted, adding the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hezbollah and the Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) have supported the terror cells in Bahrain.

These cells have been operated by elements in Iran. They have been also coordinating with IRGC in Iran, IMIS in Iraq and Hezbollah in Lebanon to train terrorists, the minister said.

Those terrorists will not go unpunished even if they live in countries that do not cooperate with the Interpol, he added.
