Rebel factions take control of strategic location in southern Syria

Orient Net, JAN 5, 2018— Al-Rahman Corps anti-Assad fighters infiltrated the strategic ’vehicle management’ regime’s post in Harasta city in Rural Damascus and seized several buildings inside it, as shown in a video published Thursday by the corps.

Orient news correspondent reported that rebels captured 11 Assad militia members, while regime officers fled the battlefront leaving their killed and injured soldiers behind.

Battles are still raging in the area, while heavy bombardment is targeting towns and cities of eastern Ghouta by Assad militias and Russian aircraft.

The vehicles management is strategic for Assad regime as it overlooks Harasta, Mdera and Irbin in eastern Ghouta and forms a launching post for regime’s rockets and artillery.

The vehicles management has all types of heavy weaponry, including long, medium and short-range artillery, rocket launchers, tanks and huge ammunition depots.

Rebels launched the battle to gain control of the vehicles management in last November, during which around 80 regime militaries were killed including ranking officers, according to reports by pro-regime Facebook pages.
