IRAN, 25 July 2017— A group of staff employees of the local telecommunication org. of Khuzestan province gathered on Monday, July 24, 2017, in front of the governor’s office in the city of Ahvaz protesting against the lack of job security and demanding official working status.
One of the employees at this demonstration said: the telecommunication org. is abusing and disregarding our rights. It has been years since we started working here with the promise of job security and legal and permanent working status. However, time after time the authorities force us to sign another illegal document that registers us as temporary employees and if we do not, we would face layoffs.
It is worth noting that currently, some 250 employees are working at the local telecommunication in Ahwaz.
