Iran: Merchants of Plasco Collapsed Building Protest for the Fourth Day

IRAN, 15 June 2017— Plasco collapsed building entrepreneurs held a protest rally in front of the building for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday June 12, 2017. They gathered in front of the regional mayor’s office to protest their undefined business situation in renovated building, and lack of approval of promised loans to their businesses by various banks in recent days.


Regarding the latest situation of Plasco shopkeepers and their protest gatherings the president of the shirt tailors union, Mojtaba Douroodian stated:


During past few months many petite promises have been made to Plasco residents, but none of them was fulfilled, and now traders are worried about the same fate for the more important promises such as rebuilding of the center in the future.


The second payment of two million, which was supposed to be paid as unemployment insurance hasn’t been paid and it has been made subject to budget approval He pointed out at the end.


It should be reminded that in the past few days, Plasco traders have gathered at four different locations and have announced their protest.


Thus, first day, they protested in front of district 12 mayor building, second day, in front of ‘Foundation for Oppressed’. Then, gathered in front of the attorney general’s building, and today, they came together at the site of the collapsed Plasco building.
