State Run Daily: Uprising Is Our Red Line in Iran

Iran, 13 June 2017– Resalat daily, a known state-run outlet in Iran, used strong remarks in lashing out at Hassan Rouhani.

“Rouhani should know that sedition (read popular uprising) is the establishment’s red line. Therefore, he should be very careful in choosing his colleagues. The establishment must not suffer from the same source twice… it is expected from Mr. Rouhani to specifically announce that the 2009 sedition and seditioners are his red line, especially when appointing his officials,” said the editor in chief of Resalat Mohammad Nabi Habibi.

“There are institutes involved in the UNESCO 2030 document, from the time they were informed the government has established a working group for the implementation of this document. Where this document has been approved remains an unknown… apparently the approval of this document by the government has taken place without the parliament or even the cabinet having any role in the process,” he added.

“The fact that government officials say in accepting the document we enjoy the right to veto it shows there are elements that are against the spirit of Islam, the establishment, the revolution and God’s orders. However, each and every article of this document states that the countries who have accepted this document are obligated to the entire initiative. Why didn’t the government take any significant action in the document regarding the upgrade of the education system, and yet for this UNESCO 2030 document they received an approval letter from the ministers? What is the meaning of this approach?” Habibi continued.
