4 JUN 2017 - British police have declared the London Bridge and Burrough Market attacks as terrorist incidents.
"At 0025hrs 4/6/17 the incidents at #LondonBridge & #BoroughMarket were declared as terrorist incidents," the Metropolitan Police tweeted.
A third incident at Vauxhall is now not considered to be connected.
"The incident at #Vauxhall is a stabbing and is not connect to the incidents at #LondonBridge & #BoroughMarket," the Met tweeted.
Prime Minister Theresa May said earlier the emergency response committee of the government, Cobra, would meet.
"This is a fast moving investigation," May said.
"I want to express my huge gratitude to the police and emergency services who are on the scene. Our thoughts are with those who are caught up in these dreadful events."
The incidents have occurred just over four days before voting is due to begin in a June 8 national election.
The BBC says more than one person has been killed.
Britain's official terror threat had recently been lowered from "critical" after a bombing killed 22 people at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester last month.
