Iran, May 16, 2017–In a letter to the regime Attorney general in Tehran, 18 women prisoners in Evin prison expressed their concern over the health of Atena Daemi. They demanded urgent consideration of her health.
A civil activist and political prisoner, Atena Daemi has been on hunger strike since April 8th.
Earlier, Amnesty International expressed concern about the health of Ms Daemi and asserted that this prisoner who is on hunger strike should soon go under medical treatment.
Daemi, a 27-year-old child’s right activist was arrested on October 21, 2014 and kept in solitary confinement and interrogation for 57 days. She was charged with propaganda against the state, assembly and collusion against national security and insulting the leader, for which she was condemned to 14 years behind bars.
