Orient Net, Feb. 20, 2017 - Opposition fighters’ al-Bunyan al-Marsous Operations Room (BMOR), the operations room coordinating the recent offensive on Assad terrorists in Daraa, declared the end of the first and second phases of the offensive called “Death over Kneeling Down,” and aimed at liberating al-Mesheyya neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad.

According to BMOR, opposition fighting factions were able to destroy two Assad tanks, two howitzers, a 23mm machine gun and a military bulldozer. A 14.5mm machine gun and tank ammunition were seized. Opposition also controlled a number of blocks and five checkpoints.

At least 30 Assad terrorists were killed or injured, including an Iranian commander. Also, 12 Assad military commanders were killed or injured including a colonel and a brigadier general.

BMOR said that the “Death over Kneeling Down” Battle was launched in Daraa al-Balad because Assad terrorists have never abode by the declared ceasefire, in addition to their attempts to advance on many fronts.

The recurrent ceasefire breaches by Assad terrorists, their encircling of some villages, bombing residential areas in Daria with surface-to-surface ‘Fiel’ missiles and the Russian airstrikes, in addition to the inaction by the international community towards the Assad regime’s and the Iran-backed foreign militias’ violations, were the reasons behind the offensive, BMOR said in a statement released on Friday.
