Al Arabiya, 27 December 2016 – Ten officials who are close to Iranian regune Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Sunday announced the formation of the Popular Front for the Islamic Revolution Forces.
The newly-formed organization said it was upset with their country’s economic and political situation. Its chief Mohammed Hassan Rahimian criticized President Hassan Rowhani’s government, particularly its economic programs.

“Our executive system has always been incapable of solving the society’s problems. Some officials have become distant from the people and headed towards a luxurious life and toward collecting fortunes,” Rahimian said referring to the salaries which members of Rowhani’s government make and which stirred uproar in Iran.
As the presidential elections near, hardliners seek to convince the Iranians that Rowhani failed to resolve domestic problems related to employment and poverty and other problems related to the nuclear agreement which they believe did not yield any positive results in Iran. Rahimian’s statements indicate that the extremist organization desires to nominate or support a hardliner to compete against Rowhani whom they believe is not fit to be re-elected.
