Al Arabiya.net, 26 December 2016 - Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, has hailed the ‘victory’ in Syria’s Aleppo claiming that the city represents a frontline for ‘Islamic revolution’ in his country.
According to him, Iranian authorities view the evacuation of citizens from Aleppo [massacre of women and children] and the destruction of the city as “victory”. Jafari also said that Tehran now views its security outside its borders.
“Our security has surpassed our geographic borders,” he said, adding that “exporting Islamic revolution” [read Islamic fundamentalism] is one of the achievements of his country led by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Well-known Iranian agencies, which have Arabic and English pages, such as Fares News and Tasnim News [both affiliated to the IRGC and terrorist Quds force] did not translate the paragraph in which Jafari made this statement as such a statement contradicts with Tehran’s official position that it only supports Bashar al-Assad and consults with him on what it describes as “terrorism” in Syria.
