Iran Regime under scrutiny for how it spent the oil revenue

An Iranian hardline cleric admitted to the deteriorating economic situation in the country and said: “Inside the country, the economic and livelihood problems and some unevenness for the vulnerable strata of the society are increasing every day and add to that all other problems including recession, unemployment, inflation as well as reduction of the national currency value and other economic problems that are surrounding the people.”
Mullah Alam-ol-Hoda also questioned Rouhani’s claims about economic growth while asking him about the whereabouts of oil revenue and said:
“Reports to people must be realistic and believable. The report on 7.4% economic growth must be based on documentation because people understand these issues. If this is the case and what you claim is true, then Saudi Arabia’s economic growth is more than any other country in the world. What happened to the oil revenue? Was our problem transfer of the money from oil sale into the country and spending it?”
