Iran: 49 persons arrested in the city of Zahedan

A report from inside Iran indicates that the Iranian Regime Security forces have arrested 49 persons, protesting the demolition of their homes in the outskirts of Zahedan in Eastern Iran.
The poverty stricken and needy people who had barely been able to muster up a shelter for their families in this town’s suburbs, faced an all-out assault by agents from the municipality combined with local security forces who had come to demolish their homes on Friday, December 23.
The owners resisted this savage assault and the oppressive security forces resorted to air shots to arrest 49 protestors, several of whom, including Mr. Mohammed Bagi Zehi, and Mr. Abdolnaser Zehi are still in prison.
Residents said that they had purchased these lands from their previous owners, that they have ownership papers, and utility bills for water and electricity have been issued to their names by the city, but these agents had demolished their homes with total disregard to these facts.
