MEXICO CITY (AP) December 19, 2016 — Mexican authorities say five women have been found shot dead inside a sport-utility vehicle in the northern state of Zacatecas.
The Zacatecas state public security secretary said Monday in a statement that the women were found early in the morning in the vehicle in the town of Juan Aldama, near the border with Durango. They found shells from a semi-automatic rifle in the area.
Authorities have only identified one of the victims. They say they found a gun inside a plastic bag in the vehicle and a variety of drugs.
The statement says that witnesses saw another vehicle pursuing the women’s SUV, which crashed into a wall.
