Allawi Asked for Security Council’s Session on Iraq

In his meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Iraq, Dr. Ayad Allawi, the former Iraqi Prime Minister, asked for a session by the Security Council of the UN to discuss the national reconciliation in Iraq, and the improvements of the Army and security forces from human resources, trainings and technological aspects, reported Az-Zaman daily.

In this visit, the Chinese Ambassador underlined his country’s support for a more active role of Arab League, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the Organization of the Islamic Conference under the supervision of the United nations. The Chinese Ambassador also underscored that the solution to Iraq’s problem is a political solution based on national reconciliation, and not a military one.
