Air pollution in Tehran once again at Dangerous level

Iranian capital city Tehran is considered one of the worst polluted cities in the world, and most reports from inside the regime describes the breathing air quality in the capital as much more difficult than tolerable.
In this regard a group of environmental activists in Tehran made a call to hold a gathering in Baharestan Square. The gathering which took place on April 1st at Baharestan Square in Tehran was aimed to reconcile with the green environment and improving health of citizens. It said that they hope for more secure cities, with less smoke and trash. We hope for an Iran full of children laughing.
Reports indicate that this is nothing new. A blinding air pollution in Tehran happens ever so often. Back in February the air quality index number in Tehran Province rose to 128 which was indicated poor for sensitive groups of citizens, according to the deputy regime’s environment administrative office.
“Tehran’s area 15 has an index number of 158, meaning poor conditions for all types of people,” Mohammad Rastegari added.
The state run news agency Mehr also reported on January 22, 2016 that “If today’s generation doesn’t think about the environment, we will be left only with posters and memories of our forests and greens.”
cutting trees for lumber and forest burning, the destruction and seizure of natural resources, taking over large bodies of water, lagoons drying, uncontrolled hunting of birds and other wild lives, seizing and destroying mountains for construction projects, destruction of orchards and green areas, water resources becoming contaminated, air pollution, industrial pollution and blackwaters are a number of the issues threatening the environment in Iran.
Back in December 2015, nearly 20 days of suffocating air pollution which was considered to be the worst in three years, forced many schools and nurseries to close.
The report said the air pollution index in one area of northeastern Tehran peaked at 238.
A decade-long central restriction zone based on car number plates was in place across the city to tackle the problem. Vehicles with plates ending in odd number couldn’t go out on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, while cars with even numbered plates were banned on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
While Tehran is the epicenter of the pollution also closed were primary schools in other major cities including Isfahan, Qom, Arak and Tabriz.
Bur according to environmental experts the air pollution in Tehran would continue to get worsen due to the lack of proper planning and management. There must be some fundamental change to first stop the worsening trend of the air quality and to reciprocate this downward trend, and that could only happen with a regime change to pave the way for a democratic and honest system to gain power.
