Yemen: President Hadi met U.N. Special Envoy in Riyadh

The Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi confirmed on March 5th that the people of his country has defined their choices and outlined their future and the future of a new unionism for Yemen.
President Hadi, while receiving the U.N. Yemeni Special Envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, said that the good intentions and trust building procedures through the freeing of those held captive, lifting blockades off, and securing safe routes to deliver humanitarian relief to barricaded governorates, including Taiz, are an urging necessity that should be met.
U.N. Special envoy Ould Cheikh expressed his hopes for Yemen to overcome its current trials and emerge to a harmonious peace filled stage. His expectations are realized by choosing peace far and foremost and the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions concerning Yemen .
A Yemeni official said that the people of Yemen and its national army are defending their homeland and their right to a legitimate government. The source said that the people refuse to allow criminal mobs to take over their country, stressing that the people’s inclination in Yemen is clear and their mission continues until the administration is restored to its natural state which is a process based on national consensus, U.N. Security Council resolutions, and both Arab and international approval.
The legitimate administration in Yemen supports political discourse over bloodshed, and that is realized through the implementation of resolution 226, which is a resolution the insurgents have already agreed on, the source added.
