The Center for Statistics in Iran announced that a total of 90 mines have been closed in just one year from March 2014 to March 2015, causing some 2,700 minters losing their jobs.
These figures were accumulated after 170 statistics workers went to check 6,400 mines across the country. The number of mines in operation during the abovementioned period saw a decrease of 90 mines in comparison to a similar period a year before. The total number of miners also saw a decrease of 2,771 person.
