Iran: officials succumb to demand of sugarcane factory workers

Following a protest rally staged by 500 workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Factory on Tuesday, February 23rd, regime officials were forced to provide promises and give in to the workers’ demands.
“Following this gathering outside the factory office building, the MP of this area provided promises in the parliament to see to their demands. The protesting workers have now returned to their jobs and are waiting to see these promises realized,” the protesting workers say.
Not receiving their paychecks for two months, leaving the factory in a limbo after privatization plans and refusing to pay the workers’ annual bonuses is amongst the protesters’ demands.
