Fiji killer storm ’Winston’ take the lives of at least 6 people


Schools in Fiji will remain closed this week after the largest cyclone ever recorded in the southern hemisphere rolled right over the island nation this weekend.
At least 6 deaths are blamed on this monstrous storm that made landfall with winds of 290 kilometers an hour. Extensive damages have been reported on Fiji’s hundreds of islands. The international airport is expected to reopen soon.
CNN meteorologist reported that unconfirmed report reveals more than a dozen fatalities. In Fiji state of national disaster will remain for at least a month. The eye of the storm was reported to be 56 kilometers in diameter.
The storm Winston is not only the strongest in the southern hemisphere, but it is tied to the strongest tropical system to ever make land fall on the face of the earth.
