Study; more youth are excluded from the work force in Iran

According to recent studies in the fall of 2015 the percentage of people above the age of 10 having a role in Iran’s economy was calculated at 38.1%, the state-run Fars news agency reported. This index was rated at 63.2% amongst men and 13.2% women. Furthermore, the economic participation rate in the population aged 10 and above in the fall of 2015 witnessed a 0.8% decrease compared to the summer of the same year, and this index decreased 0.7% in urban areas, 1.0% in rural areas, 1.0% amongst men and 0.6% amongst women.
The unemployment index shows what percentage of the country’s active population is actually unemployed.
Assessing the unemployment rate in various age groups shows that the highest unemployment, 26.5%, is seen amongst the 20-24 age group.
Evaluating this index in this particular age group rates 22.0% unemployment amongst men and 45.8% amongst women, having the highest rate amongst all age groups.
Statistics on half-employment shows what percentage of the country’s active population have part-time jobs. Based on these results in fall 2015, amongst the active population aged 10 and above 9.4% are rated as having part-time jobs. This index is 10.6% amongst men and 3.5% amongst women.
