Washington, February 11, 2016– When President Barack Obama announced nuclear deal with Iran last summer, Sen. Charles E. Schumer was one of a handful of Democrats opposing it. He said Iran would “use the agreement to pursue its nefarious goals.”, timesunion.com, reported.
Any regrets, Sen. Schumer? Have you changed your mind?
“No,” the soon-to-be top Democrat of the Senate told upstate reporters on a conference call. “I’ve always felt that hardliners will hold sway, and that’s why I opposed the deal.”
The lifting of sanctions gives Iran access to about $100 billion in frozen assets. Republican presidential candidates have pledged to roll it back if elected.
