Iran Resistance condemns Iranian regime’s assault on former Tehran Uni. president

The Iranian Resistance calls on the United Nations and international human rights organizations to condemn the detention and harassment of Dr. Mohammad Maleki, the first Tehran University Chancellor after the 1979 revolution.
The Iranian Resistance described Dr. Maleki’s detention and harassment by the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) on the verge of the elections as an indication of the Iranian regime’s fear of escalation of social protests.
At 10 am Friday, February 5, the 82-year-old Dr. Maleki was arrested by a group of MOIS agents at Parkway Intersection in Tehran.
The agents treated him cruelly as they pushed him into a Peugeot. As a result Dr. Maleki suffered an injury to the head and severe soreness of the body. Several hours later, the suppressive forces abandoned him in a deserted area near Behesht-e Zahra in southern Tehran.
Dr. Maleki who was first arrested in 1981 has spent many years in the regime’s medieval prisons. Although very ill, he has been detained and imprisoned time and again in recent years by the regime’s suppressive organs.
