Iran: hygiene problems threaten 48% of women

Women are taking part in less than 1% of political activities, said Zahra Zamani, a member of the so-called city council in Yasuj before reporters.
“87% of women in this province are economically inactive, and the most important reason is that women’s coop institutions are not active in the economy,” she said.
“Low participation in sports and the lack of gymnasiums for women has increased their problems in this province. Province officials must pay close attention to these problems and take action to resolve these matters,” Zamani added.
“48% of women living in rural areas and tribal societies are facing serious hygiene problems,” she concluded.
