Masoume Abad, a member of Tehran’s so-called city council shed light on the atrocious status of Afghan children.
“Various foreigners have not been able to register their children in schools as they are not able to pay the 1.2 million rial (around $35) fees. Based recent statistics of the 500,000 Afghan nationals under the age of 18 in the country only 35,000 have been able to register in schools because they had ID cards,” she said.
“The tuition of each Afghan student is 2.1 million rials (around $60) in elementary school and 3.2 million rials (around $93) in intermediate school,” she added.
