The hunger strike launched by Mohammad Ali Taheri in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison entered its 22nd day on Thursday, September 3rd. Taheri is protesting his execution verdict and launched this hunger strike on Thursday, August 13th.
It is worth noting that a group of people protesting the death sentence issued for minority religious group leader Mohammad Ali Taheri rallied recently in a district in southern Tehran demanding this verdict be suspended.
Khamenei’s authorities had also attacked demonstrators gathering in the city of Qom as they were protesting the death sentence issued for this political prisoner. A number of Taheri’s supporters were arrested and the remaining were dispersed from the scene. Protesters had gathered in Qom from various cities.
