Egypt to hold elections in October

The Egyptian Elections Commission announced on Sunday that parliamentary elections will be held in this country on October 18th and 19th, Reuters reported from Cairo. Egypt has not had a parliament since 2012.

 

The Elections Commission said in press conference that these elections will be held in two phases. The second phase will be on November 22nd and 23rd and elections for Egypt nationals abroad will be on October 18th and 19th.
The Egyptian government says elections are this country’s commitment to democracy.
The Egyptian Parliament has 568 seats and there are specific rations considered for women, Christians and the youth.
