Yemen: report on recent advances by popular resistance forces

Local sources reported a senior Houthi militant by the name of Abu Hossein has been killed in an ambush placed by popular resistance forces in al-Bayda Province.
Al Arabiya TV reported the popular resistance forces and Yemen National Army are continuing to gain victories and control over Houthi positions, especially in Ta’izz. Sources inside the resistance said they have intensified their clashes in western and eastern parts of Ta’izz Province and the resistance is attempting to take over a palace and the central security forces’ base. Despite backup being provided to the Houthis their forces in Ta’izz have lost their spirits and the resistance has been able to capture the Tha’bat region south of a military hospital, a base belonging to air defense units and the 25th Brigade base.
Local sources in Ibb Province said popular resistance forces have captured the town of Shazban and are in full control in a number of villages and a town near the city of Ibb. They have forced Houthi militants to flee these areas.
Other reports show dozens of Houthi militants and troops loyal to ousted dictator Ali Abdullah Salah have been killed in recent attacks in the town of Mukiras in al-Bayda Province. Arab coalition warplanes have also launched intensive airstrikes on Houthi positions in Mukiras and the Sarvah region of Ma’rib Province.
