Syria: FSA establishes high command council

Syrian opposition military commanders inside the country held a session in the city of Reyhanie in Turkey announcing the formation of the Free Syrian Army High Command Council, Al Jazeera reported on Sunday, July 19th.
“In response to requests made by the fighters, and to live up to our promises to the blood of the martyrs and the suffering of the Syrian people, and to materialize the revolution’s strategic interests, the structure of the High Command Council has been reformed,” said Colonel Mostafa Ibrahim in a statement. “After talks with commanders of various fronts, we have published the names of members of this council and we hope they will remain loyal to the principles of the revolution and direct our uprising to its definite victory in order to establish freedom and justice, and overthrow the Assad regime and prosecute the criminals.”
