Rudy Giuliani to the residents of Camp Liberty: You show us what the future of Iran would be, the character of the people of Iran

Former New York Mayor, Rudy Giuliani said during his address to the Grand Gathering of the Iranian Resistance in Paris: “I don’t know if you realize how significant this letter is” pointing to the letter signed by 38 American officials and VIPs. “But it is for me quite amazing the number of people that I have behind me. So many different aspects of American politics. I can’t anything else this group of people behind me agrees on other than this letter. This represents the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, liberals, conservatives, people from business, people from the military, all walks of life. Let’s see if I can summarize the letter in my own words because it is quite long and quite powerful. Here is the thrust of the letter:
The ayatollah must go. Gone. Out. No more. He and Rouhani and Ahmadinejad and all the rest of the mullahs’ regime should be put on trial for crimes against humanity, for the thousands and hundreds of thousands of people that they have killed and it is about time we stop ignoring it. Where is our decency? Where is our morality? We have allowed this for years, and years and years. Thousands of people killed. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians slaughtered. More being slaughtered today than before. American soldiers killed by the Quds force. For how much longer are we going to allow this?
A country and an ayatollah who dedicates himself to the destruction of one of our strongest allies, who almost every week says destruction to the state of Israel. I say destruction to the ayatollah. Where are our principles? Where are our values? What happened to the America that supports democracy? What happened to the America that supports freedom? What happened to the America that intervenes when horrible killings are occurring like in Syria? 200,000 people slaughtered in Syria and we drew a red line and like cowards we stepped back. That’s not my America. That’s not their America. That’s not what our fathers and grandfathers fought for, when they fought for freedom in Europe twice. When they pursued the Cold War to liberate Eastern Europe from communism. It was an America you could count on. When solidarity arose in Poland, like your movement a few years ago in Iran, our president then supported solidarity. Where is Ronald Reagan when we need him?
And we unequivocally support a non-nuclear Iran. Now what does a non-nuclear Iran mean? It doesn’t mean 2 months away from being able to have nuclear missile? It doesn’t mean 1 year away from having a nuclear missile. It doesn’t mean an Iran that will become a nuclear power in 10 years. What it means is Iran should have no, none, zero nuclear capacity because the regime in Iran can’t be trusted with it. You do not put weapons of mass destruction in the hands psychopathic homicidal murderer. That’s why we are here. We are to make that statement. And we are here to make another statement because I here this all the time. For the apologist for this agreement which is a sell-out to the ayatollah, which is a sell-out to the worst kind of religious fascism. I hear this all the time. There is no alternative, we have to make this agreement, there is no alternative. WAKE UP!
How many people are here today? 100,000? 110,000? How often have you come here? There is an alternative. Madame Rajavi, the national resistance movement, all of you and all of the people inside Iran, that you know better than I do who yearn for all human beings year for. Freedom, respect, dignity and the ability to live with the religion of their choice, and a country that respects the right of women. How could you make that point more clear than by having a woman who is running this organization?
As I have told you on many occasions I am extremely embarrassed. I am humiliated by the fact that my country has broken its promise to your people that are now in the concentration camp called Liberty. What a horrible name for it. Liberty. A concentration camp, a killing field, and another broken promise. To us, not just to you, but to us, and to the many of the people that you see up here. A promise made to us in Paris three years ago. They lied to us, they broke their promise to us. Just like every single day when those people remain in Liberty in fear of their lives. They have a piece of paper signed by an official of the United States promising them asylum in the United States. Each and every day that promise is being broken by my country. I am embarrassed, I am ashamed and I am here to apologize. And I am also here to say that we will do everything we can. Everything within our power to make good on that promise.
So, now I speak just for myself because this is going to get very political. We have a presidential elections coming up. In fact one of the major candidates announced today, the four thousandth Republican candidate will announce on Monday. Well not 4,000, sixteen. But two major candidates, either of whom could be the next president of the United States. We don’t know who the next president of the United States is going to be? We don’t know who it will be. But I will make this promise to you. I will not support anyone for the President of the United States who isn’t clear on that slogan behind m. What does it say? It says REGIME CHANGE. I will not support a candidate who does not have the moral fiber and the courage to stand up to the ayatollah and tell him we are going to do everything we can to get you out and you are never going to become a nuclear power. I will not support a candidate who will not stand up to the ayatollah and say to him you become a nuclear power over my dead body. It’s not going to happen.
I am not supporting a candidate who won’t stand up to the fact that America represents the last great chance for humanity. America has been there and other countries have been there for and we are going to be there for you. I will not support a candidate who doesn’t immediately, just like when Ronald Reagan took the oath of office, and all those people were released, and all the hostages were released, the ayatollah then looked in the eyes of Ronald Reagan and what he saw in the eyes of Ronald Reagan is exactly what Gorbachev saw in the eyes of Ronald Reagan. He saw steel. He saw determination. He saw a man willing to use the power of the greatest nation on earth to liberate people. We need a man or a woman like that now, who has the strength of character no matter what the public opinion polls show. Maybe Americans of war. Americans were tired of the Civil War in 1863. If you took a poll then more Americans would have wanted it over. But we had a president called Abraham Lincoln who did what was right. Americans didn’t want to enter the 2nd World War. We had a president who did what was right, Franklin Roosevelt. We now need a president who can be a liberator; join the few presidents we have had who have become liberators. That’s the candidate that I will support. One who immediately sends airplanes, if we haven’t done it already, right to Baghdad, pushes anybody out of the way who gets in their way, and takes all your people to the United States of America. Our election is just beginning. It’s going to go on interminably but we will do everything, or certainly I will do everything I can to make sure that every single candidate is asked this simple question: ARE YOU FOR REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN? Will you immediately liberate the people we had promised to liberate, the people at Camp Liberty, some of whom have already been slaughtered?

And to the people of Camp Liberty, you bare the biggest burden here. It’s coming. Please have hope. Please have hope. We are working very, very hard to liberate you. You are working very, very hard to create a situation that gets world attention. You are conducting yourselves with dignity, with strength, with patriotism. You show us what the future of Iran would be, the character of the people of Iran. Not these mullahs, not these ayatollahs, dictators, you show us the characters of the people of Iran. And we will elect a president, and I guarantee when the ayatollah falls, he is going to fall the way the Berlin Wall fell, he is going to fall the way the Soviet Union fell, it’s going to happen like this, and then we will be able to go to Tehran and have a free and democratic Iran, and you will be able to pursue your dreams and the great legacy of your country.
It is now my honor to present to a great woman. I heard a delegate from Ireland describe her as this generation’s Mahatma Gandhi. She is a truly great woman. This is the official letter that has been sent to the President, officials in the United States and every presidential candidate setting fourth our opinion. It is my honor to present it to a woman who is a hero to me, Madame Rajavi.
