Former MIOS official: 33,700 were executed during 1988 Massacre of Political Prisoners in Iran

Reza Malek, the deputy director of Research and Survey section of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry (MIOS) during the tenure of mullah Fallahian (former Intelligence Minister), in a video tape distributed recently, has acknowledged for the first time to the shocking news that the clerical regime has executed 33,700 political prisoners during 1988 massacre. The executed prisoners were buried in collective graves.

Reza Malek was a colleague of Saeed Emami (deputy Minister of Intelligence and Security). He was arrested after Saeed Emami’s murder during revelation of the “chain murders” and has been kept in ward 209 of the MIOS.

After 7 years of being in solitary confinement, Reza Malek, in a video message addressing UN Secretary General acknowledged to this shocking confessions regarding the atrocities carried out by the MIOS.

According to confessions of Reza Malek there are 170-190 collective graves in different locations. There are more than 100 prisons and covert torture chambers only in Tehran.
