Iran’s negative influence in the region is devastating; Dr. Ayad Allawi

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Iraqi Vice-president and former Prime Minister, Ayad Allawi, described the role of the mullahs regime in the region as a negative interference in the domestic affairs of countries in the Middle East.
Dr. Ayad Allawi, the leader of one of the largest Iraqi national factions, stated on May 16: “National reconciliation is essential for the Iraqi society, but people like para-military forces do not want this reconciliation to happen. The forces are supported by countries in the region who intervene in Iraq and this regional interference plays a big role in Iraq’s instability.”
He also added: “An example of this harmful interference was in 2010 when our faction won the elections but we were declared the loser because of the position of the Iranian regime and the U.S. administration, and the loser, was announced the winner, which was the product of the influence of the Iranian regime in Iraq and America’s decision.”
With respect to the ever increasing meddling of the Iranian regime, he added: “Currently, based on what happens in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Bahrain, we witness that the Iranian regime’s position only proves that the intention of the regime is only negative interference in the affairs of these countries.”
Also, in an interview with Al Arabiya television on April 12 he said: “We demand that the Iraqi government executive branch pushes the Iranian commanders away from conflict zones. If these commanders have come for military advice, then they should be in Baghdad and should not be present in conflict areas.”
He also noted a year ago in an interview with Al Jazeera that “A lot of things in Iraq are run by the Iranian regime and specifically is done by someone called Qasem Soleimani”.
