Iran: Unrest continues in Mahabad following the suicide death of a young woman

Farinaz Khosravani, 26, an employee of Tara Hotel in Mahabad, western Iran, jumped to her death from the fourth floor of the hotel she was working in earlier this week after she was sexually harassed and intimidated by a member of Iran’s infamous intelligence ministry who had made a deal with the hotel manager to give the hotel a 5-star rating in exchange for sexually molesting and raping this innocent young woman.
Farinaz, the breadwinner of her deprived family, found herself cornered by this maniac who was trying to abuse her. She finally was force to jump to her tragic fate from that height to save her honor.

The news of this heinous crime and the heartbreaking ending angered many in the city of Mahabad. People began to talk and express frustration at the regime and its vicious intelligence ministry.

On the day of the nationwide teachers’ protest where more than 100 cities in Iran was the scene of teachers’ demonstration, Mahabad residents gathered outside the hotel where Farinaz used to work and burnt it down.

Efforts by the anti-riot police did not work and people had a chance to express their frustration at this regime.
