Iran: 27 years since the end of Iran-Iraq war, yet no drinking water is available in Khorramshahr

Abdullah Sameri member of the Iran’s parliament during an open session of the parliament acknowledged about the disastrous living and health conditions of people of khorramshahr city, south of Iran. He said: the catastrophe is due to the sewage system which is not working in Khuzestan province. This has created death swamps that occasionally take the lives of our people. How long this should continue? Wasn’t 8 years of destructive war enough for the people in this area? The smell of gunpowder can still be felt. Why do our people have to put up with the rotten smell of the sewage in their water? Every day more people get sick and there are new cases of cancer identified. Yet the government has no plans to solve this miserable live! Our drinking water is mixed with black water and rotten smells which bothers our lungs. People are getting lung cancer.
