International news outlets on Saturday cited an informed Saudi source saying that the country’s Special Forces have entered the Yemeni soil. The Saudi Special Forces are tasked with giving support to the local forces and tribes loyal to the Yemeni President Abderabbu Mansour Hadi in their fight against Houthi rebels taking over the country. They have a "coordinating and leading" role in this fight against the Houthis.
The Saudi Special Forces also airdropped weapons, ammunitions and other military necessities to facilitate the tribes’ advances from South. According to the AFP, the heavy air attacks by Saudi fighter jets on Friday force the Houthi rebels to retreat from the presidential palace in the southern city of Aden.
