Iran, Resalat daily: the 2009 uprising was with the aim of overthrowing the regime

“This event did not have anything to do with the presidential elections,” said the government-run daily Resalat in its editorial. The paper added “an oversight of slogans chanted during the street riots of 2009 show that the protesters were aiming at the Islamic Republic and simply not the presidential elections. One look at the slogans shows that none of them have anything to do with elections. Slogans such as “No to Gaza, No to Lebanon, we sacrifice our blood for Iran” and “Death to the principal of the Supreme leader or supremacy” and specially this slogan that clearly says “the presidential election is pretext, the principal of the entire regime is aimed.”
The paper showed a clear panic when concluded that “anybody with little political intelligence would know that these slogans have the nature of abolition of the regime and none of them relates to the result of the presidential elections. Apparently these slogans were the most liberal ones compare to some other radical slogans.
