Iranians demonstrate in Washington to support Ashraf

On Monday, September 18, Washington D.C. witnessed magnificent demonstration of supporters of Iranian Resistance in front of White House. The demonstration was held by the initiative of families of Ashraf residents. It started at 11.30 by rallying at La Fayette Park.

Many personalities participated in this demonstration including Mr. Steven Schneebaum, one of the PMOI’s attorneys, deputy Bishop of Brooklyn-New York and human rights activists including Mr. Bruce McColm. Also a number of artists and members of the NCRI as well as a great number of relatives of Ashraf residents participated in the rally.

Some banners carried by the demonstrators read: ” Transfer of Ashraf protection, violation of Fourth Geneva Convention”, ” Support Ashraf, Stop Tehran’s regime” , ” Geneva Convention, International Law and Human Rights Law emphasize US protection of Ashraf”

In a message to the demonstration, US Congressman Lincoln Diaz Ballard, member of Congressional Foreign Relation Committee, said: “All of us must stand by democracy defendants’ activists and protect them until they continue their valuable work to guarantee a free and democratic Iran.

After the rally, Professor Steven Schneebaum, member of American Bar Association and the attorney of Ashraf residents’ families, who has recently been to Ashraf, delivered speech and stressed on the threats of the Iranian regimes attacks against Ashraf and underlined the US government commitment on protection of Ashraf.

Ronald Preecup, attorney, member of Washington Bar Association and attorney of the PMOI in the US.

Dr. Martha Allen, executive director of Women’s Institute for freedom of press

Mr. Howard Williams, deputy Bishop of Brooklyn District in New York

Professor Daniel Zucker, director of the Society for Democracy in the Middle East.

A delegation of religious leaders and personalities supporting the Iranian Resistance including Dr. Howard William, Reverend Lehrer Junior, Reverend David Lorry, Reverend Berry Parson.

The demonstration ended by reading a final resolution.
