Conference of “United Muslims against Abuse of Islam by extremists”
Neither ISIS and caliphate is Islam, nor the velayat-e faqih in Iran; neither the beheadings by ISIS is Islam nor the splashing acid on women’s faces in Iran. The “caliphate” declared recently in Syria and Iraq has been ruling in Tehran for over 30 years now.
In a conference on Sunday, November 30, titled “United Muslims against abuse of Islam by extremists”, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, warned that “any sort of cooperation and rapprochement with the Iranian regime under the pretext of fighting ISIS will solely result in the spread of this cancer in the region with the Muslim nations as its principal victims.” She added, “The crisis created by ISIS is the by-product of the conditions created by the regime of velayat-e faqih and its subordinate dictatorships by suppressing and implementing sectarianism in Iraq and Syria. For their part, the Western governments are responsible for the spread of this crisis due to their appeasement of the Iranian regime as the Godfather of fundamentalism and terrorism.”
In this conference held at the invitation of French Muslims Committee in Defense of Ashrafis, Rajavi stressed: “The military confrontation against ISIS can uproot ISIS only if its fertile ground throughout the region is destroyed…finishing off ISIS is possible solely if the clerical regime is evicted from all these countries.”
Pointing to the need of the international community for a “united front of democratic Muslims that are against fundamentalism and extremism”, Rajavi stipulated that in this united front, the shared view is to “reject extremism under the emblem of Islam and its main political and ideological epicenter which is the religious dictatorship ruling Iran”. Moreover “supporting the alternative to this regime, meaning a cultural solution and an alternative founded on the democratic Islam” is essential.
As a Muslim woman, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance exposed extremism in the name of Islam and said: “Neither ISIS and the rule of caliphate in Iraq and Syria nor the velayat-e faqih in Iran, the beheadings by ISIS, the crucifying of Sunnis by elements of the Iranian regime in Iraq, or the splashing of acid on women’s faces in Iran have anything to do with Islam. The “caliphate” that announced its existence in Iraq and Syria in the last several months has been ruling in Iran for over 30 years.”
Pointing to the fact that in Islam there is “no confrontation between believers of Shiite and Sunni” she reiterated that the Iranian Resistance believes in and adheres to the “principal of separation of mosque and state”, respect for rights, and freedom of belief of followers of various religions and that it rejects the Sharia of the mullahs.
In this conference, a number of French Muslim personalities also offered their speeches such as: Taoufik Sebti, secretary general of French Council of Muslims (CFCM); Khalil Merroun, rector of Evry Mosque and president of French Muslims Committee in Defense of Ashrafis; Cheikh Dhaou Meskine, director of Réussite School; Hamida Maïga, president of Muslims Federation and director of Cergy Mosque; Hikmet Turk, president of French-Turk Cultural Center; Saïd El Mouadoine, director of Pontoise Mosque; Sadek Abrous, Vice-president of Muslims Regional Council of Ile-de-France region and Ayatollah Jalal Ganjé’i, chairman of NCRI Committee on Freedom of Religion.
