A number of factory workers at Ravand Industrial City, in Kashan, central Iran, stopped working from Tuesday last week until Thursday morning in protest to the unpaid wages and salaries. They assigned a representative to discuss their grievances with the government affiliated company management, but their efforts bore no fruit, so they announced a 3-day strike to force the management to pay their salaries. The authorities’ intimidation and threats did not stop them from going on strike.
They have not received more than 3 months of salary and benefits.
