Iran: 55 executions in less than two weeks

Mullahs’ Judiciary head of human rights: Executions are part and parcel of combating narcotics and they should thank us for it
Concurrent with the anti-human crime of splashing acid on defenseless women, the wave of executions in the cities around the country has also heightened. The registered executions in the time span of October 18 to 29 (12 days) are as follows:
In Taybad (northeastern Iran) seventeen prisoners were secretly executed. Nine of them were collectively hanged on Monday, October 27, and another eight were hanged after October 18. At least 47 other prisoners are awaiting their executions in this prison.
In Orumiyeh, ten prisoners were secretly executed. On October 7, Ebrahim Choupani, a badly mentally disturbed prisoner was hanged in Orumiyeh’s central prison. In the early hours of October 27, four other prisoners were also hanged in this prison. Also, after October 18, five prisoners were hanged in Darya Prison in Orumiyeh.
At the insistence of regime’s officials, on October 25, Rayhaneh Jabbari, a 26-year-old student and decorator, was executed in Gohardasht Prison of Karaj after suffering seven and a half years of imprisonment. A male prisoner by the name of Mohammad Ghorbanzadeh was also hanged along with Rayhaneh.
In Rasht, according to the Justice Website of Gilan, nine people were executed on October 18 and 25. One of those executed on October 18 was an Afghan citizen.
On October 23, six prisoners were secretly hanged in Adel Abad Prison of Shiraz and two prisoners, including Dadkhoda Narouei, were secretly hanged in Kerman in Shahab Prison.
On October 19, Fardin Ja’afarian, 18, was hanged in Tabriz. At the time of his arrest and alleged crime he was 14. This criminal hanging severely violates many international conventions, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
On that same day, eight prisoners were collectively hanged in Ghezel Hessar Prison of Karaj. Also, on October 21, eight other prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their execution.
In reaction to the Iranian people’s wrath and revulsion of the crime of acid splashing on Iranian women and girls and the intensified suppression, the clerical regime that is known among the people as the “Godfather of ISIS” has found no solution but to heighten the atmosphere of terror in the society and carry out more executions.
These executions are carried out with the approval and insistence of the most senior officials of this regime. In reaction to reports by international organs regarding the violation of human rights in Iran, Mullah Larijani, the head of mullahs’ Judiciary, said: “The more they attack us on the issue of human rights, the more resolute we become in carrying out the verdicts.” (Reporters Club Website, affiliated with regime’s IRGC – October 15)
In an interview with CNN TV network, Javad Larijani, regime’s Judiciary head of human rights, brazenly said: “The report by Ahmed Shaheed is “neither credible nor objective. Yes, we do have executions in Iran, but the majority of them relate to narcotics and all the world, including the United States and other Western communities, benefit from Iran’s combat against narcotics. Therefore, the West should thank Iran for its unilateral and firm struggle against drug related crimes.” (Tabnak state website – October 30)
Once again, the Iranian Resistance emphasizes that turning of a blind eye by the international community at the catastrophic situation of human rights in Iran, will only embolden the criminals ruling Iran. The only way to confront this savagery is through the adoption of a firm policy with regard to the religious fascism ruling Iran.
