Int’l conference against ISIS launches in Paris

The Paris international conference to fight against ISIS began this morning with presence of presidents, foreign ministers and senior officials from 30 different countries.
French President Francois Hollande said the objective of this conference is to rally political support for the fight against ISIS, as such a threat is a global threat that needs a global response. He went on to say effective measures are needed and this is the goal of this conference. Reacting to this terrorist threat in the end will be political measures.
Francois Hollande emphasized that during the past 3 years the crisis in Syria has left behind 200,000 people dead and there must be assurance on the future of Syria and strengthening the opposition, and France will work with its regional partners in this regard.
Prior to the beginning of the international conference, Iraqi President Fuad Masum said in a press conference that the world is in the middle of a faceoff with ISIS in Iraq. This terrorist organization is murdering the elderly, men and women he added, emphasizing today we have formed a national unity government to include all Iraqis, and all Iraqis are interested to enter this fight.
Fuad Masum thanked the United States, European Union, Turkey and Arab countries for their support in the fight against ISIS. The Iraqi President went on ask for continuing US military strikes against ISIS in Iraq.
