Rajavi: “Maliki must be ousted; nuclear talks headed to “impasse,” US/UN must act on Camp Liberty, Rouhani moderation a “mirage”

PARIS – “There is only one solution for Iraq, which is to oust Nouri al-Maliki, to evict the Iranian regime from Iraq, and to establish a democratic and inclusive government,” said Maryam Rajavi, President-Elect of the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI), said today in a keynote speech at the “All for Freedom” international gathering of the Iranian Resistance at Villepinte, outside Paris.
Maryam Rajavi said for the Iranian regime from day one, Iraq, has been its “long sought dream” and its “most important prey” to “export its reactionary ideals and terrorism” due to its geopolitical position. She said “It is only the Iranian regime that openly supports the continuation of Maliki’s rule.”
Maryam Rajavi said Maliki and the Iranian regime are mischaracterizing the Iraqi rebellion as terrorism and actions of extremist groups. But the truth is that “tribal leaders and the people of Iraq have for weeks repeatedly condemned any form of extremism and terrorism as well as any assault and aggression against civilians.”
The “All for Freedom” event is sponsored by more than 300 associations around the world, representing a broad range of expatriate Iranians and supporters, from government officials, professionals, students and business men and women to human and women rights activists.
It included the participation of more than 100 dignitaries and some 500 parliamentarians from the US, France, Europe, Canada, Australia, and Middle East participated in the event.
In her speech, Mrs. Rajavi also discussed Camp Liberty, the nuclear negotiations, and Hassan Rouhani’s record since coming to power a year ago.

Camp Liberty
Maryam Rajavi Rajavi said the United States and the UN Secretary General have a unique responsibility to ensure the security, protection and safety of the refugees at Camp Liberty.
“We have repeatedly called on the United States to transfer the residents of Liberty to the US or a European country, even on a temporary basis,” Maryam Rajavi Rajavi said. “We would pay for all expenses of such relocation.”
At a minimum, she said the US must “prevent the Iraqi regime from carrying out any attack or aggression and imposing restrictions on the residents of Liberty.” Additionally, “It must guarantee the security of Camp Liberty and work to end the inhumane siege against it.”

Nuclear Negotiations
Mrs. Rajavi said nuclear negotiations between Iran’s mullahs and the P5+1 nations are “facing a strategic impasse.” She said Iran’s mullahs “fear the internal and internal consequences of continuing the policy of acquiring nuclear weapons.” At the same time, they “are worried of the internal reverberations of retreating from this policy and the crumbling of their regime.”
She said the mullahs are taking advantage of the West’s appeasement toward Iran in order to buy time and leave open the path of acquiring nuclear weapons.
Any agreement on nuclear issues in Iran must have the following provisions. Iran must:
• Accept the Additional Protocol and snap inspections of all of its sites;
• Accept the unrestricted interviews with all those involved;
• Halt all the regime’s nuclear sites and projects, including Arak, Natanz and Fordow;
• Hold the regime accountable for violations of human rights and genocide in Syria and Iraq, in parallel to the nuclear negotiations.

Rouhani’s Record
Mrs. Rajavi evaluated the record of Hassan Rouhani’s first-year in power. She called Rouhani’s “moderation” in Iran “a mirage” and predicted the “regime’s crises will intensify.”
“All of the regime’s strategic reserves have been used and it is facing a lethal dead-end in all realms,” Rajavi said.
She said the force for change in Iran is neither the tug-of-war between the regime and the West regarding nuclear issues nor infighting between ruling factions within the regime. “The main battle has been, and is, between the Iranian people and their Resistance and the ruling theocracy.”

All in Freedom Gathering
Mrs. Rajavi said the gathering today reflected the “will of the Iranian people from all walks of life, including political prisoners, for freedom and democracy.”
“The time has come for the international community to stand with the Iranian people,” she said.
Mrs. Rajavi said change in Iran is inevitable but it would not come from within the mullah’s regime, but through the Iranian people and their Resistance.

“The Iranian people want regime change and the Iranian Resistance is the guiding force,” She said. “This Resistance is the main player in any serious and essential development in Iran. That is why the mullahs and attempting to delay their overthrow by increasing executions, massacring the members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Ashraf and Camp Liberty, and resorting to deceptive propaganda.”
The Iranian Resistance seeks a republic based on separation of religion and state, gender equality, annulment of the death penalty, and a non-nuclear state
